Take an RPS order from approved cloud master to reconciled print queue
The September 1–11 print tasks turned orientation mistakes, incorrect source documents and misleading completion totals into explicit production gates. Shopify supplies the catalog orientation; Creative Cloud holds the editable master; Photoshop supplies visual proof; printer records supply reported output. A queued or completed job does not establish good physical output, and one Mac's missing history cannot justify a reprint.
Workflow steps
- 1
Resolve each stable SKU against the order and Shopify catalog; record exact size, copies, title, canonical orientation and expected canvas in a source-backed manifest
Action
- 2
Operator reviews any Faire/Shopify size conflict or missing orientation; stop that line until the intended product is resolved
Decision
- 3
Inspect the exact current Creative Cloud SKU and variant folders: open an approved exact size, duplicate another approved size, or prove both are absent before creating new artwork
Decision
- 4
For a missing size, duplicate the approved cloud document, rename in its SKU folder, resize canvas first, transform artwork, save and verify the exact SIZE-STABLESKU.psdc master
Process
- 5
Human checks the active saved cloud master and Photoshop print preview for printer, media, Normal quality, dimensions and orientation; cancel on clipping, rotation or scaling warnings
Decision
- 6
Submit the authorized copies one new SKU at a time; use Add to Printer for a stopped queue and keep printers paused unless resumption was explicitly authorized
Action
- 7
Read back document name, job ID, printer, media, requested copies and reported sheets; reject source-image/local-PSD job names and record when CUPS lacks orientation data
Process
- 8
Keep job state separate from reported sheet count: canceled jobs may have output; distinguish original quantity, reprints, canceled-job counters and any missing host history
Action
- 9
Operator reconciles the queue evidence packet with physical quantity and quality before fulfillment or reprinting; an unobserved host or missing job remains unknown
